Chinese Entrepreneur Network (CEN)
|
Established in February 2009 by a group of MBAs and other graduate students, Chinese Entrepreneur Network (CEN) is a University of Michigan student organization focusing on networking and entrepreneurship development. CEN aims to bring together people from different fields but with the same interest of exploring business opportunities both in the United States and in China. Through seminar series and focus groups, our members could extend their business network, exchange personal experiences and resources, and develop future business opportunities.
In less than a year, CEN has successfully recruited more than 300 members including UM students and scholars, faculty members and local entrepreneurs, in Ann Arbor and surrounding areas. CEN events started with a series of seminars on various business related topics such as financial crisis, consulting industry and green energy, where attendees continuously joined the network. As the group expands, CEN has built up connections with other UM organizations and local business associations for future co-operations. Moreover, CEN has also established a Chapter in Beijing to extended our network with the China government, universities and companies. Recently, the CEN Beijing Chapter has formed strategic partnership with Peking University Venture Business and Venture Capital Association, which laid the foundation for our future network events in China.
CEN also formed three focus groups in information technology, green technology and startup venture. These specialized interest groups focus on generating ideas and projects which could be start points for future business. More focus groups on various topics will be established as more people with different interests take part in the team.
